Position Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler for one of our valued machine shop clients. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, staying organized, and supporting production operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The Material Handler will play a key role in ensuring machinists have the materials, parts, and supplies needed to keep production moving efficiently. This position will also assist with forklift operations, shop organization, and maintaining a clean and safe facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver raw materials, parts, and tools to machinists as needed throughout the shift
- Move completed parts and materials throughout the shop using a forklift or pallet jack
- Assist machinists and production staff with material staging and workflow support
- Load, unload, and organize incoming materials and shop inventory
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas inside and outside the facility
- Perform general building cleanup, sweeping, trash removal, and shop upkeep
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Support additional warehouse or production duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, machine shop, or industrial setting preferred
- Forklift experience required (certification preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the shift
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work well with machinists, supervisors, and team members
- Basic understanding of shop safety practices
- Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
