About the Opportunity

Specialized Staffing Solutions is proud to partner with one of our long-standing machine shop client in Tangipahoa Parish. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support operations within a precision machine shop environment. This is a great opportunity to work in a stable, hands-on setting with the potential for long-term employment.

This position is responsible for maintaining the overall condition of the machine shop facility and CNC equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and addressing mechanical and electrical repairs as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components, and general shop upkeep. Experience working around CNC machines and industrial equipment is highly preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of the machine shop and CNC equipment to identify and address maintenance issues
• Perform preventative maintenance on all CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection of components, and reporting potential issues to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and mechanical components as needed
• Support maintenance and upkeep of shop equipment, tooling, and machinery
• Handle basic carpentry work, such as repairs to doors, fixtures, and shop structures as needed
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
• Respond to maintenance requests from shop personnel in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency

Competencies:

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical repair
• Experience working in a machine shop or industrial environment preferred
• Familiarity with CNC machines and preventative maintenance practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

This position operates primarily in an industrial machine shop environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving machinery. It requires frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, standing, and walking throughout the shift. Additionally, the position may require the ability to carry and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Adherence to safety protocols and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
