Accounting & Bookkeeping Clerk (Residential & Commercial Construction)

Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time | Tangi, LA Area

Specialized Staffing Solutions is a locally owned and operated staffing firm partnering with a well-established, long-standing local client seeking an experienced Accounting & Bookkeeping Clerk. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a stable organization serving both residential and commercial customers.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented accounting professional with hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, tax-related functions, and financial record management. This position requires accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger entries
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Generate invoices, customer statements, and payment reports
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures
  • Prepare and process payroll information as needed
  • Maintain vendor files, W-9 forms, and tax-related documentation
  • Assist with sales tax reporting and filing requirements
  • Support preparation of financial statements, profit and loss reports, and balance sheets
  • Reconcile job costing and project-related expenses for residential and commercial projects
  • Track subcontractor payments and ensure proper documentation is maintained
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end reporting
  • Work closely with management, accountants, and external auditors as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
  • Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting clerk experience required
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Knowledge of sales tax reporting, 1099 preparation, and tax documentation
  • Experience supporting residential and commercial construction, contracting, or project-based businesses preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong data entry and mathematical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Stable work history and professional references required
